Senate Bill 20 shows no care for women, children, or families.

Health care providers and business leaders across the state have warned about the dangers of this extreme ban. Doctors have said further restricting abortion in North Carolina is dangerous, and will restrict their ability to provide critical care. Business leaders have said the ban will be harmful to North Carolina's workforce and economy. And yet Republican legislators barreled forward with this dangerous legislation.

This extreme abortion ban imposes significant, and in many cases insurmountable, barriers on people trying to get an abortion early in pregnancy. It will lead to substandard health care, higher maternal and infant mortality rates, and more people forced to carry a pregnancy and give birth against their will. We need to vote out Republicans who routinely put their extreme agenda over the personal freedoms of North Carolinians. We cannot allow such dangerous overreach by politicians into our personal lives.

Democrats will continue to fight this extreme ban and work to make North Carolina a champion for reproductive freedom.
